Friday Five!

Happy Friday!!!

Linking up with Joy at the Sowell Life for the Friday Five

1. Baby Charleston

One of my best friends, Jessica, welcome her sweet Charleston Grey to the world on Monday! I can't wait to meet him next week. I hate living so far away from all my friends.

2. Christmas Cards
This time of year, I love checking my mailbox for Christmas cards. They brighten my day every time I get one.

Today, I received my card from the Bulldog Club, would have to say it is my favorite non-picture one!

3. Gifts

My students really spoiled me this year with Christmas gifts. I am so blessed to be teaching 44 WONDERFUL students!

4. Christmas Break!!

Never thought this day would get here. It will be so nice not to set an alarm for 5:04 am for 16 days!

5.  New teaching license

Got my new teaching license today. Feels real that my college career is officially over! Ready for my pay raise. :) I also, don't have to renew my license til 2023. That is 10 years away and it seems like it is forever away. But, I am sure it will come very shortly!

Wine and Cheese Christmas Party

This past weekend Nathan and I traveled to Hernando for a Wine and Cheese Christmas Party. Maggie did such a great job planning it. It looked just like a board off of Pinterest.
The Hosts

Maggie had two tables set up, Red Wine and White Wine.
The White Wine Table. Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc

The Red Wine Table. Merlot, Pinot Nior, Zinfandel

On each table, Maggie had the chocolates and cheeses that went with each wine. There was goat, feta, cheddar, parmesan, brie, and gouda cheeses. Dark chocolate almonds, dark and regular chocolate truffles, chocolate cover straweberries and raspberries.   She even printed out a chart for us to follow.

Maggie started the night off with a wine tasting contest. We had to guess the wine and the description for it. I got 5 out of 12 and Nathan got 3 out of 12. It was hard. The wines did not taste like their descriptions to me, but apparently that is what the wine maker tastes.

Maggie also had wine fact cards on each table.

There was also cute posters describing the different types of wine drinkers behind each table.

We also had some regular finger foods: apples with a caramel heath bar dip, a blue cheese salad on French Bread, and ham and cheese pin wheels.

Overall, it was a great night trying new foods and hanging out with some great friends! I can't wait til the 2nd Annual Wine and Cheese Christmas Party!

P.S. I am adding close up pictures of each table down here, I didn't want to overload the body of the post with pictures.

Friday Five- Christmas Wish List

Happy FRIDAY!!! I am finally linking back up with Joy at The Sowell Life for her Friday Five. Today, I am going to give you my Christmas Wish List. It has been so hard to come up with 5 things that I want for Christmas.

1. Babybliss Flat Iron 1 inch- My flat iron that I have right now is about to die! It barely gets hot anymore. So, this is very much needed, so I don't look like a frizzy hair lady! :)
Can find it here

2. Garth Brooks- Blame It All on My Roots 6 CDS and 2 DVDs Gift Set- Ah! I love Garth Brooks. He was my very fist concert! I am hoping to get tickets for his World Tour next year. Hint, Hint, Nathan.
Can find it here

3. Fringe scarf- I think these are so cute. I would want any color except red or pink.

4. Black Toms or Bops- The ones I have right now have holes all over them, but I still continue to wear them.

5. Ronaldo The Love Always Bracelet- I really like these and I believe this one will go perfect with my other ones.

An extra wish for good measure: Spa Day Package. Who doesn't love a massage, facial, pedicure, and a manicure?!

Maybe Santa will grant me all my Christmas wishes. I have been a really, really good girl! :)

Catch Up!

Oh me! Oh my! Can't believe it has been since October that I last posted! In the past few weeks I have painted, watched the Egg Bowl Trophy make it back Starkville, hung out with family,, painted some more, and FINISHED up grad school!!! I am going to do a short blurb about each to catch my 2 readers up. Ha

1. Paintings- I love to go to Easely Amused with friends and just paint the night away. I love the technique we used for the background in the first painting. I believe this is my favorite one so far!
"Ode to My Family" with Maggie
The painting below was by far the hardest one I have ever done! I had to get lots of help on this one. I never want to paint holly leaves again! Ha

2. #wontheday
Man, Thanksgiving Day was FREEZING, but that did not stop me from traveling to Starkville to cheer on my bulldogs to victory! My mom, nephew (tsun fan), his girlfriend (tsun fan), and myself loaded up the van with chairs, blankets, gloves, hats, hot hands, jell-o shots, rotel cups, and a huge crockpot full of taco soup. We were ready for anything. We tailgated with my friends and had a nice spread of food. Had visits from friends from TSUN and it was great to all get along. Ha. I ate way to much! The game was a close one. So glad that TSUN did not even score an offensive touchdown. I was a ball of nerves when we kicked that last field goal. Can't believe we went into overtime (the first time in Egg Bowl history). Dak had an amazing touchdown run and Whitley had a great play to stop Bo (Sunshine) from scoring. It was so nice to see him eating maroon and white. That day I held my chin a little higher and was proud to be a BULLDOG!

3. Family Time
I loved getting to spend some of my break with my family and Nathan's. We celebrated Thanksgiving on Friday (Nathan's family) and on Saturday (my family). I love a good cooked Thanksgiving meal. I honestly ate way to much, but did not care!

Green bean casserole busted in the oven. :(

4. Grad School

I HAVE TURNED IN ALL MY ASSIGNMENTS FOR MY MASTERS DEGREE IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION!!!!!! All I have left now is one final on Friday. This has been a long couple of years. But, I am so glad to be able to go home and relax and not worry about what is due next or thinking about a paper or a discussion. I have my weekends back! FINALLY!!

Check back tomorrow for a tour of my home decorated for Christmas. :)
