February Update

February was a busy month! A wedding, Valentine's Day, and my Birthday!

Jon and Courtney's Wedding

Jon is my oldest friends. We have been friends since we were in diapers and unable to crawl. I am so happy that he has found his soulmate! Courtney is absolutely perfect for Jon and his crazy personality. Their wedding had such a special touch to it. It was so beautiful. The reception was amazing too! Lots of great food and desserts.

Valentine's Day

This year I decided to do 14 days of Valentines for Nathan. I am just going post pictures of what I did. Can't remember each day. Ha

Besides the 14 happies, I got a dozen chocolate cover strawberries and a personalized tie clip for Etsy. I will add the information about it later. :) Nathan sent me roses to school! We also went to dinner at Shapley's. I love their steaks and stuffed shrimp! I need to get better at taking pictures of us out.

Birthday!!!

Can't believe I turned 28 this year! When I was younger, I always thought I would be married with several kids by this age. My life might not be what I was expecting, but I wouldn't change it for anything. I have an amazing boyfriend, a job I love, and some really great friends!

My parents met me in Starkville for an early birthday lunch the Sunday before my birthday. Nathan couldn't come. Stupid tax season. :(  We enjoyed a great lunch at Little Dooey's, a walk around campus, and doing a little shopping. My parents gave me a tablet and bought me some things at the bookstore!

Nathan and I went out to eat for my birthday. Nathan gave me the Dancing with the Stars Ronaldo bracelet. I LOVE it!

The third one!
The day of my birthday, I got together with some friends at one of my favorite restaurants in Jackson, Keifers.

Need to take more pictures!

Over all, February was a pretty great month!

Yikes!

I am apparently the worst blogger! It has been almost 3 months since I have last blogged. So much has happened since then.

To get back in the swing of blogging, I will write a monthly recap of the happenings in my life.  Enjoy!

January

24 Day Challenge

I finished my 24 Day Challenge with 5 pounds and several inches gone. The first 10 days were the easiest for me. I did not like taking all those pills the last 14 days. I am not currently taking the MNX pills, but I am still drinking my Spark and taking my Catalyst (helps with muscle retention)  everyday. I am planning on doing the 10 day cleanse again soon. Wish I would have taken before and after pictures.

Rallying for a Pay Raise

On Martin Luther King Day, teachers across the state met at the State Capital to rally for a pay raise. Unfortunately, we did not get the $5000 across the board pay raise we were wanting. But, we did get a $2500 raise over 2 years.

Mississippi Snow Day

Every teacher loves a snow day until we have to make it up! We got two days off in January for snow. The weather guys forcasted it for days, but I honestly did not believe we would get any snow. Boy! Was I wrong!

I am sure I am forgetting a few important events in January. Oh well! :)

Maybe I will get February's highlights before 2015. Ha

Day 1...

Today is Day 1 of my Advocare 24 day challenge! I figured I would keep myself accountable, if I blogged about it everyday.

Oh me! I forgot how horrible the fiber drink is, but it is so worth it. This time I got the citrus flavor and it is so much better than the peaches and cream. Hoping tomorrow will be better! :)

Breakfast: Fiber Drink and a meal replacement shake

Snack- Cutie

Lunch- 2 grilled chicken tenders with green beans and a cutie

Snack- unsweetened apple sauce

Dinner- Taco Soup

5 bottles of water

Can't wait to see results and become healthier in 2014!

Friday Five!

Happy Friday!!!

Linking up with Joy at the Sowell Life for the Friday Five

1. Baby Charleston

One of my best friends, Jessica, welcome her sweet Charleston Grey to the world on Monday! I can't wait to meet him next week. I hate living so far away from all my friends.

2. Christmas Cards
This time of year, I love checking my mailbox for Christmas cards. They brighten my day every time I get one.

Today, I received my card from the Bulldog Club, would have to say it is my favorite non-picture one!

3. Gifts

My students really spoiled me this year with Christmas gifts. I am so blessed to be teaching 44 WONDERFUL students!

4. Christmas Break!!

Never thought this day would get here. It will be so nice not to set an alarm for 5:04 am for 16 days!

5.  New teaching license

Got my new teaching license today. Feels real that my college career is officially over! Ready for my pay raise. :) I also, don't have to renew my license til 2023. That is 10 years away and it seems like it is forever away. But, I am sure it will come very shortly!

Wine and Cheese Christmas Party

This past weekend Nathan and I traveled to Hernando for a Wine and Cheese Christmas Party. Maggie did such a great job planning it. It looked just like a board off of Pinterest.
The Hosts

Maggie had two tables set up, Red Wine and White Wine.
The White Wine Table. Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc

The Red Wine Table. Merlot, Pinot Nior, Zinfandel

On each table, Maggie had the chocolates and cheeses that went with each wine. There was goat, feta, cheddar, parmesan, brie, and gouda cheeses. Dark chocolate almonds, dark and regular chocolate truffles, chocolate cover straweberries and raspberries.   She even printed out a chart for us to follow.

Maggie started the night off with a wine tasting contest. We had to guess the wine and the description for it. I got 5 out of 12 and Nathan got 3 out of 12. It was hard. The wines did not taste like their descriptions to me, but apparently that is what the wine maker tastes.

Maggie also had wine fact cards on each table.

There was also cute posters describing the different types of wine drinkers behind each table.

We also had some regular finger foods: apples with a caramel heath bar dip, a blue cheese salad on French Bread, and ham and cheese pin wheels.

Overall, it was a great night trying new foods and hanging out with some great friends! I can't wait til the 2nd Annual Wine and Cheese Christmas Party!

P.S. I am adding close up pictures of each table down here, I didn't want to overload the body of the post with pictures.
